So one of the things you will find with the Canon Eos M is that it has no viewfinder. Now this is not a total deal breaker. I have found that I certainly prefer the stability whilst shooting of the viewfinder on my 70D, but I also like the instant results you get from making adjustments to your image from the live view screen.
Now some of you may know that I have been living in a very Sunny country for the last five years! that creates all sorts of problems for the Eos M and me and reflective and near non existent ability to see the screen.
So i got this fantastic bit of kit, easy as 1,2,3 to put on. weighs nothing at all so doesn’t affect my lightweight canon eos m camera. shade is perfect for bright sunny weather shooting. i can see the screen perfectly now. nice easy quick opener and closing. handy slide off mechanism if you want to take the shade off. fabbo I put pics 1-6 to show from the packet to fixed on the camera.
Now I have found this invaluable in strong bright light, but the only draw back is that when the bright light(sun) is behind you it once again becomes difficult to see the screen, not as difficult as without a screen at all, but still difficult. So I am also considering getting one of these Loupes. These are as near as you will get to a viewfinder for mirrorless cameras. Although without all the information you would normally get on a viewfinder and not electronically attached to your camera like the ones you can get for more recent Canon mirrorless cameras, this will have to do! When I get it I will give an update on how it works! or not!
